Bejeweled 2 is a fun game of matching and smashing jewels! Make sets of 3 or more to gain points and make it to the next round.
There are four different modes to play Bejeweled 2: Classic, Action, Puzzle, and Endless. In either mode you will want to make sets like the following:
You can make different types of sets for bonuses:
This is a simple set of three. To make a set, click on one of the jewels and then click on the jewel you wish to replace it with. They can only be moved one space over, up and down, or left and right. Jewels cannot be moved diagonally.
In this example, two sets are created by switching the blue and red jewels. You’ll make more points for making multiple sets and larger combinations.
Here is an example of a set of four jewels. If you match four jewels together you will be given a Power Gem:
Power Gems can be matched with other matching jewels, but when they are, they will cause an explosion that will clear all nearby gems, and grant you even more points!
Match 5 jewels to get a Hyper Cube:
Hyper Cubes can be swapped with any other surrounding jewel to clear the board of all matching jewels. For instance, you might swap the Hyper Cube with a red jewel, which would cause all of the red jewels on the board to disappear!
Now that you know the basics of the game, here is how the different modes work:
Classic and Endless Mode
In Classic and Endless Bejeweled Mode you will need to keep matching jewels until you fill the bar at the bottom of the screen:
Filling this bar to the very end will transport you to the next round. You can see what level you are on by looking just under your score:
If at any time you’re stuck, you can press the Hint button, but it will cost you some of your score:
In this mode, you will be awarded Prize Points when you run out of moves to make, but don’t worry if you don’t get to that point before you have to quit. Your game will be saved for you until you want to play again and can be continued next time you want to play Classic Mode:
Action Mode
Action mode looks almost identical to Classic Mode, except that Action Mode is timed. You will notice that in this mode, the bar at the bottom will constantly be moving back towards the beginning. If it gets near the end, it will flash pink to warn you:
If it makes it all the way back, the game will be over:
Action Mode also has a Pause button though, which you can press at any time if you need a break:
Just like Classic Mode, you will want to get the bar all the way to the very end to make it to the next round, and again this is done by matching sets. You can again press the Hint button if you can’t find a set to make, but in Action Mode, it will cost you both some of your score and some time.
Puzzle Mode
Puzzle mode is very different from the other three modes. Although you will still be matching jewels, the goal of Puzzle Mode is to clear the screen of every single one of them. You will start the game on a “Planet” that has five unique puzzles. You will need to clear four of them to go to the next “Planet.” Another unique feature of Puzzle Mode is the ability to undo moves if you want to:
As you progress, the Warp Meter will fill up:
Once four have been completed you can click on it to warp to the next planet. You can also press the Galaxy Map button to view how far you have made it so far:
The galaxy map looks like this:
You can click on each planet to view what its puzzle looks like and see its name, if you have unlocked it:
Planets with a question mark on them represent planets that you have not finished yet:
Planets with an orange aura around them represent planets that have been completed to Warp, but not fully completed. In otherwords, four out of five of the puzzles have been completed:
Planets with a green aura are completely finished (five out of five puzzles):
