How Do I Play Diner Dash 2?

Basics

In Diner Dash 2, the main goal is to earn enough money in tips so that Flo can pay the rent on the restaurant. You (playing as Flo) serve customers across 5 types of restaurants, and each restaurant has 10 levels. You can make just enough to get to the next level, or you can work hard and smart to make Expert within that level. As you level you will receive 2 choices to add decorative touches to your restaurant, and thus entice more customers to dine at your restaurant. If you achieve Expert within any level you will receive a third personalization choice. It's fun and challenging to try to achieve Expert status in every level! By trying to achieve Expert, you'll learn how to play better, and your restaurants will look great!

Story Mode vs. Endless Shift

You may start Diner Dash in either Story Mode or Endless Shift. Story Mode is the main mode in which you play through levels in the series of restaurants. In Endless shift, you start with 5 stars, losing one whenever you lose a customer. When you lose all 5 stars the Endless shift has ended.

Restaurants

You start out at your own little cafe. As you go, you move on to pizza and taco shops and a Japanese restaurant. Each restaurant has 10 levels to complete.

Customers

You'll receive many types of customers in Diner Dash, some of which can be quite quirky! Seating the customers strategically can help you tremendously in completing a level. Some are very noisy, and you should try to avoid placing them near the customers that like quiet. The business women order quickly while the the bookworms order quite slowly.

  • Customer Types:
    Customer Types

Customers have a heart status; when it goes very low you need to bring up their heart level quickly with snacks and/or quick attention to ordering and serving. Otherwise you will lose the customer, and lose quite a bit of money from tips you've already made. Try hard not to lose your customers!

Snacks

Coffee, soda, chips, and desserts can be served to customers throughout their meal to increase their happy status, thereby increasing your tips.

Helpers

After you get to a certain level in one of the restaurants, you'll start receiving helpers. Some of the helpers you can choose from are:

  • hostess - stands at the front of the line and talk with the customers to keep them happy
  • busboys - give the checks and clean the dishes
  • drink server - serve drinks
  • musicians - play music for the customers to make them happy

How to Redo Level

In order to re-do a level so that you can try to achieve Expert level, choose your restaurant feature, but instead of going to the next level, you will want to Quit. You'll be brought out to the main view of the 5 restaurants. In front of the restaurants are a line of bubbles and/or stars, which correspond to the levels. If there is a star, it means you've achieved Expert for that level. However, if there is a bubble, then you've not yet achieved Expert status in that level. Click on the bubble corresponding to the level you want to re-do and hit Start.
