GoDance Multiplayer Mode
Now that you have the basics of
playing GoDance down, perhaps you'd like to see how well you do against some real opponents! That's where
GoDance's Multiplayer Mode comes in. You'll start out in the
GoDance Lobby. From the Lobby you can browse existing sessions, join them, or create your own. Here's an example of an existing session in the
GoDance Lobby:
You'll see that there are many details about each available session. We'll explain more about the most important aspects later on in this guide. For now, try joining a session by selecting it from the list and then pressing "Join Session":
Next you get to pick which pet you will play with:
Here is where it's important to note that your pet's
PEK levels will have an effect on game play! Whatever Stage is picked by the
GoDance Session Host will have
PEK Requirements - some high, and some low. It's important to note that the
PEK Requirements do not include Equipped Item Boosts, so your GoPet must meet these requirements on Statistics alone, though their Equipped Item Boosts will count once in Game Play. You can access your pet's
PEK Statistics by pressing the 'Learn how to increase my
PEK Status' button, which appears below each of your GoPets:
PEK and
GoDance work together like this:
- P affects the score value for each sequence.
- E affects the length of the Sweet Spot (for making Perfect Combos).
- K affects the length of the whole Hit Spot (for making Sweet and Lucky Combos).
PEK Requirements will generally get harder to meet depending on the Stage Level that is picked, which means your pet will need to level up in
GoDance to have a fair chance at these harder Stages! More info on that later.
After choosing which pet to play with you'll then be taken to the Session Waiting Room where you can see a little more about the Session and everyone else who has joined:
From here you can also view each user's profile and set whether you are ready to play or not:
The game starts when the Session Host starts the game. In the game screen you'll be able to see which pet belongs to each of the people you're playing against right above each players' head:
In Multiplayer Mode there are different Game Modes available: Standard and Tournament. Standard Mode isn't all that different from playing on your own, but what is different about it is that you'll have the chance to win some Green Shells without risking a thing! Once entering a Standard Session, you'll be able to see the Green Shells up for grabs:
The amount up for grabs is slightly adjusted depending on how many players are in a session.
Tournaments on the other hand will cost Shells depending on what the Session Host set the requirement as. Tournaments can cost Green, Pink, or Gold Shells, or a combination of any of the three. The cost for a Tournament will be shown in the
GoDance Lobby:
The prizes for winning in a
GoDance Tournament are shown in the Session Waiting Room:
Again, these prizes are adjusted depending on how many people enter the session. The prize reflects how many Shells were required to enter and increases with every player who joins. For each Tournament that's created, GoPets takes a small fee, but the majority of Shells placed into the Tournament is given to each of the winners at the end:
To create your own Session, Standard or Tournament, click on the Create Session button from the Lobby:
Just like when you joined an existing Session, you'll need to pick which pet to play with. Remember that
PEK is important when playing
GoDance. Your pet won't be able to use higher
GoDance Level Stages if they don't meet the
PEK Requirements. When creating a
GoDance Session your GoPet will also need to meet the
GoDance Level Requirements. Different Stages have different
GoDance Level Requirements:
Here you can see that each Stage has the mentioned
GoDance Level and
PEK Requirements. When creating a
GoDance Session, your selected GoPet must meet or beat the
GoDance Level Requirement. A user of any
GoDance Level may still join your Session, though this will make the challenge hard for them and decrease their chances of getting awards and experience.
Next it's time to set the
GoDance Options for creating your own Session, from the Game Mode, the music, and, of course, whether it's Standard or Tournament:
The options are pretty straight forward. You will be given a few more options if you select Tournament Mode from the Game Type Menu:
If you choose Standard Mode, you will be given the option to change Game Settings at anytime within your Session, before the
GoDance Competition has begun. You can't do this in Tournament Mode though. You will find the 'Edit Dance Settings' button below the Challenge Information:
As a Session Host you also have the ability to remove any players from your game session if you wish:
You will also be in charge of the most important thing: Starting the Session! Simply click the Start Dance button to get your game going:
There's very little that changes in Game Play from
Single Player Mode and Multiplayer Mode, except, of course, that your opponents aren't computer based! You are also competing for the chance to win some prizes and Shells, as well as experience so your GoPet can attain a higher
GoDance Level. Experience is not always awarded and neither are prizes. Your GoPet will have a higher chance of getting Experience if they enter a
GoDance Stage that is equal or higher than their
GoDance Level. Experience is also affected by the amount of players in a Session. The more players, the more Experience! Last place will not receive any Experience, and prizes, when awarded, will only be dropped to the First Place Winner. Also, different Stages will hold different prizes, so you'll want to play certain Stages for a chance to win certain prizes!
Here's an example of the Results Screen in
GoDance Multiplayer:
It's completely up to you whether you hold or join a free or paid
GoDance Session. Both modes can be fun so we hope you'll enjoy playing them! As always, feel free to contact
GoPets Customer Support with any questions or concerns you may have.
