Setting Your Client Options

In your GoPets Desktop window there is an Options button. Click on it to access its Drop-Down Menu and select Options from the list. This little tool is quite handy, as it allows you to further personalize your GoPets experience.

Navigation

The three main icons on top are:

1. Game
2. Graphics
3. Sound

There is also a section for:

1. Language - use the Drop-Down Menu next to this to select the appropriate language for you. Changing the Client Language requires that you restart the GoPets Client before it will work.
2. Limit # of Pet Visitors - using the Drop-Down Menu for this Option you can limit the amount of pets one user can send to you. This doesn't control how many visitors total that can visit your GoPets Desktop.
3. Allow Sent GoPets - these are your Options for whether or not you would like to accept or refuse all visitors, or have the GoPets Client Ask for Your Permission before anyone tries to send their pets to visit your desktop!

The Network Status bar on the bottom shows how well you are connected to GoPets. Usually the faster your connection, the greener this bar gets.

Game

The Game area is specific to how your GoPets Client runs. You are given the choice of checking or unchecking the following five things:

1. Stay Mode - if you do not want your pets leaving your desktop, choose Stay Mode. They will remain at home with you.
2. View your neighbors' lands - choose this option if you don't want to view your neighbors' lands.
3. Tip of the Day - when starting up your GoPets client, a Game Tip will appear. Turning this option off will hide the game tip when you open the client again.
4. Load GoPets at Windows Startup - if you would like GoPets to open automatically when you start up your computer, check this box. You can turn the option off again simply by unchecking the box and restarting the GoPets Client.
5. Auto Login - tired of putting your password and ID in every time you want to play? Choose the Auto Login Option and you will be immediately logged in every time you open the GoPets client. You can also manage this from the Login Screen. However, if you share the GoPets Client with someone else, this is not always the best option to have on.
6. Turn off Tooltip - every icon has a Tooltip that gives more details about it when you hover your cursor over it. Turning this off will allow you to play without the Tooltips popping up, and can be turned on again at any time by unchecking the box.

Graphics

Graphics in the Options menu refers to animations, etc.

1. Hide All Nameplates - tired of seeing each and every Nameplate hovering above pets' heads? You can turn them off here and view the nameplates of pets by right-clicking on one from the GoPets Desktop window and selecting View Nameplates from the Pet's Drop-Down Menu instead. Nameplates can also be turned off temporarily again by using the same Pet Drop-Down Menu and Selecting Hide Nameplates.
2. Turn Off The Banner - the plane that Premium Subscribers can buy has a banner on the end of it that says "GoPets". You can turn that banner off here.
3. Turn Off All Decoration Item Animations - if you do not want to see Item Animations (for example, the fountain of rushing water) you can turn them off here. This does not include any animations your pet may do, such as interacting with other pets, dancing, etc.
4. *Turn Off Pop Ups - if you don't like being alerted whenever you recieve an IKU or gift, you can turn those alerts off here.

Sound

Sound allows you to adjust the volume of your GoPets client. You can also mute the client by checking the box by Mute. Sounds refers to meowing, barking, entrance/exit music, etc.

Saving Changes

Saving your changes is simple enough - just click the blue checkmark button! If you change your mind, click the red cancel button and start over.
